Terms & Conditions

The rules and guidelines that govern your use of our website and services.

Effective date: 1 September 2025

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the website homefix.help ("the Site") and the services offered by Renovo Home Services Pty Ltd (ABN: 48 302 917 564), trading as HomeFix Craft ("we", "us", or "our"). By accessing the Site or engaging us for renovation services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site or our services.

1. About HomeFix Craft

HomeFix Craft is a home renovation business operating in the greater Melbourne metropolitan area. We provide a range of residential renovation services including, but not limited to, interior and exterior painting, carpentry and woodwork, tiling and flooring, plumbing, electrical work, landscaping and outdoor construction, and interior styling. All trade work is performed by licensed professionals in accordance with Victorian regulations.

2. Use of the Website

The Site is provided for informational purposes and to facilitate communication between you and HomeFix Craft. When using the Site, you agree to the following:

We reserve the right to restrict or terminate your access to the Site at any time if we reasonably believe you are in breach of these Terms.

3. Intellectual Property

All content on the Site — including text, photographs, illustrations, graphics, logos, page layouts, colour schemes, and the underlying HTML, CSS, PHP, and JavaScript code — is the intellectual property of Renovo Home Services Pty Ltd or its licensors and is protected by Australian copyright law under the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth).

You may view, download, and print pages from the Site for your personal, non-commercial use, provided you do not modify the content or remove any copyright or proprietary notices. Specifically:

4. Service Descriptions

The descriptions of renovation services on the Site are intended to provide a general overview of the work we perform. They are not exhaustive and do not constitute a binding offer or specification. Each renovation project is unique, and the precise scope, materials, methods, and cost will be determined during the quoting process based on an assessment of your specific property and requirements.

For example, our painting services page may describe interior wall painting using premium water-based paints, but the actual paint brand, number of coats, and surface preparation required will depend on factors such as the condition of your existing walls, the type of substrate (plasterboard, rendered brick, timber panelling), and your colour and finish preferences. These details are confirmed in the written quote.

5. Quotes and Pricing

All quotes provided by HomeFix Craft are free of charge and are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated in writing. A quote becomes a binding agreement only when you accept it in writing (which may include acceptance via email) and we confirm receipt of any required deposit.

Our quotes are prepared based on the information available at the time of the site inspection. If, once work has commenced, we discover unforeseen conditions that were not visible during the inspection — for example, concealed water damage behind wall sheeting, asbestos-containing materials in an older property, or structural deficiencies in floor joists — we will notify you promptly and provide a revised quote for the additional work required. No additional work will proceed without your prior written approval.

Unless otherwise specified, quoted prices are inclusive of GST. The quote will itemise the scope of work, materials, labour, any allowances for fixtures or fittings, estimated duration, and payment terms (typically a deposit, progress payment, and final payment upon completion).

6. Project Variations

If you wish to change the scope of work after accepting a quote — for instance, upgrading from standard ceramic tiles to natural stone in a bathroom renovation, or adding a built-in wardrobe to a bedroom refurbishment — we will issue a variation notice detailing the change in scope, any additional cost, and any impact on the project timeline. Variations must be approved by you in writing before the changed work is carried out.

7. Permits and Approvals

Certain renovation works require building permits or planning approvals from your local council. For example, structural alterations, additions that increase floor area, and works on properties within a Heritage Overlay may require permits under the Building Act 1993 (Vic) or the relevant council planning scheme. While we can advise you on the types of permits likely to be required and can assist with the application process, obtaining the necessary approvals is ultimately the responsibility of the property owner. We will not commence work that requires a permit until the permit has been granted.

8. Warranties and Guarantees

HomeFix Craft stands behind the quality of our workmanship. We provide a workmanship warranty for a period specified in your project contract (typically 12 months for general renovation work and up to five years for structural carpentry). This warranty covers defects arising from faulty workmanship but does not cover damage caused by misuse, neglect, accidental impact, natural disasters, or normal wear and tear.

Materials used in your project may carry their own manufacturer warranties (for example, paint manufacturers often provide a warranty on coating durability). We will pass through any applicable manufacturer warranties to you and assist with claims if needed.

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy conferred on you by the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010) that cannot be excluded, restricted, or modified by agreement.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the total liability of Renovo Home Services Pty Ltd for any claim arising out of or in connection with the Site or our services is limited to the amount you have paid us under the relevant project contract. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profit, loss of data, or business interruption, whether arising in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise.

This limitation does not apply to liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or liability under the Australian Consumer Law.

10. Website Availability and Accuracy

We endeavour to keep the Site available and its content accurate, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access or that all information is current at all times. The Site may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, server issues, or circumstances beyond our control. Content such as service descriptions, indicative pricing ranges, and project examples may become outdated between updates.

The Site may contain links to third-party websites, such as material suppliers or industry associations. These links are provided for your convenience and do not imply endorsement. We are not responsible for the content or practices of any third-party website.

11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia. Any dispute arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria and the relevant federal courts of Australia.

12. Dispute Resolution

If a dispute arises between you and HomeFix Craft in relation to our services or these Terms, we encourage you to contact us first so we can attempt to resolve the matter directly. You can reach us at [email protected] or +61 3 9812 7640.

If the dispute cannot be resolved through direct communication within 14 days, either party may refer the matter to mediation administered by the Resolution Institute (or a similar accredited mediation body) in Melbourne. The costs of mediation will be shared equally unless the mediator directs otherwise. Neither party may commence court proceedings in respect of the dispute until mediation has been attempted, except where a party seeks urgent injunctive relief.

For disputes involving domestic building work, you may also have the right to lodge a complaint with Consumer Affairs Victoria or the Victorian Building Authority, depending on the nature of the issue.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision will be severed from these Terms and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The revised version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you have an active project contract with us, changes to these Terms will not alter the terms of that existing contract without your written agreement.
